World Refugee Day 2020
As the world confronts the COVID-19 pandemic, UFVRA’s mission to protect the rights and safety of the world’s almost 80 million refugees and forcibly displaced people has never been more urgent.
Various distress that displaced communities will be among the hardest hit or will be left behind entirely in the global response as the pandemic continues to spreads. But many people forced from their homes are on the front lines of COVID-19 or are courageously continuing their day-to-day work amid the virus. Now more than ever, we are doubling-down on our mission to advocate for these displaced Refugees communities and elevate their voices.
In honor of World Refugee Day, we are sharing three stories: a South Sudanese dental surgeon and refugee supporting his community in Arua Uganda, an Ethiopian asylum seeker working as a cultural mediator in Kakuma refugee’s camp, and a Congolese refugee working as a UNHCR field translator in Kiradongo camp Uganda. And one would like to share more stories, please email to us at:
Join us in sharing their stories and celebrating them.
